Micro SD Cards

Aside from the genuine Nintendo microSD card , which third party microSD cards are compatible with the New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL?

 

We have tested the compatibility with the following:

SanDisk Extreme:
16GB (SDSDQXL-016G-Q46A)
32GB (SDSDQXL-032G-Q46A)

SanDisk Extreme PLUS:
16GB (SDSDQX-016G-UQ46A)
32GB (SDSDQX-032G-UQ46A)

SanDisk Extreme PRO:
16GB (SDSDQXP-016G-XQ46)
32GB (SDSDQXP-032G-Q46A)

Toshiba:
8GB (SD-C008GR7AR30)

The above products have been tested on our consoles, but we cannot guarantee their functionality. Please read the instruction manual of the microSD card before use.

Please note that the specification of the above products may be changed by the manufacturer and consequently this may cause incompatibility with New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL.
Please use this formatting software to format the SD card on your PC.

 

Is SDXC format supported?

 

No, SDXC format is not supported.

 

What is the newly added function microSD Management used for?

 

By connecting your PC and New Nintendo 3DS or New Nintendo 3DS XL system via the same a wireless network access point, you can copy music and other files from a PC to your system's microSD card, or copy photo data from your microSD card to a PC via a wireless network access point.

 

Which PC environments are compatible with the microSD Management function?

 

This feature is confirmed to be compatible with Windows® 7 and Windows® 8.1.

Is it possible to transfer only part of save data or software from a microSD card?

 

No, it is only possible to make a complete transfer of save data or software from a microSD card.
